University Scholarship
I was born in a mountain village with no electricity and bad roads. The school was very far from the village — in order to study I had to live away from home and apart from my parents from kindergarten onward. It was a very difficult time for a child, but in order to have the opportunity to study I fought through it and made it. I am deeply grateful to my parents.
My goal is to become a teacher, inspired by a teacher who once taught me. That person was an excellent role model, helped me with things I could not do, and guided me in many ways. I chose Physical Education because I enjoy it, I feel I can do it well, and I can share this knowledge with others.
The work I have done is agricultural because my family mainly grows rice. I started helping my parents from around age 7 — helping as much as I was able — and as I grew older I helped at home throughout every school break. I also sometimes pick tomatoes for hire. I will do whatever work I have the opportunity to do and am always eager to learn.
I was born a Christian, and during school years I lived at a Christian dormitory — whenever there were activities I joined them. Sometimes I helped run activities for children at the church. In Grade 11 I had the opportunity to be the deputy student council president and did many school activities such as speaking at flag ceremony and representing the school to open the World Anti-Drug Day event.
My goal is to complete my studies and be able to support myself and my parents, and to pass the civil servant teacher certification exam — because I believe teaching is the most important career. I want to be a good teacher who can guide students toward success. My other dream is to be a professional athlete — though it is difficult, I believe God will always provide a way for me.
